Jeremy Allom

Jeremy Allom started his career in Film Sound recording and has experience engineering and mixing soundtracks for the Film and Television industry. He has worked in some of the best studios in the world, Air Studios, Abbey Road, Metropolis, Olympic, Townhouse, Real World, Wessex, Eden, Trident, Britannia Row and many more worldwide. Since 1978 he has gained unrivalled experience of large, multi-format consoles both analogue and digital. He worked through the rise of SSL in the '80s and digital systems in the '90s. In short, he knows how to get the best results out of any studio set up.

 Jeremy was born in the UK and his is career began in Australia in 1974 where he trained as a film sound recordist at the ABC, Gore Hill, Sydney. In 1976, he started working in Live sound as 'front of house' engineer for Hush, John Paul Young and Marcia Hines. He returned to England in 1978 and began work on the two 24 track mobile recording semi-trailers operating from Richard Branson's Manor Studios in Oxfordshire, (the Manor Mobile).

 

In late 1979, he joined Wessex studios and was mentored by the legendary Bill Price working on projects such as “The Pretenders” first album, other projects included Pete Townsend "Empty Glass", and The Clash "London Calling", The Specials "More Specials", and The Damned.

Jeremy joined Air studios in 1982 where he worked with such artists such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Cliff Richard, Mike Batt, Japan, Madness, Duran Duran, Jeff Beck, Heaven 17 and Dire Straits. He went free-lance in 1984. In 1991, Jeremy mixed Massive Attack's universally acclaimed classic debut album "Blue Lines. 

During the late '80s and early '90s, Jeremy's success as a Mixer included Incognito's album "Tribes, Vibes and Scribes" featuring the hit single "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing". He collaborated with DNA on their productions including the hit "Can You Handle It". Jeremy enjoyed a long collaboration with Danny D - performer, Producer, DJ and founding member of D Mob. Including remixes for artists such as Salt'N'Pepa, Kim Appleby, Bobby Brown, Right Said Fred, Dinah Carrol, Jackie Graham, Juliet Roberts and Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman" remix.

In 1994, Jeremy moved back to Australia with this young family. His production and co-production credits in Australia include Vika and Linda "Princess Tabu", DIG (Directions In Groove) "Speakeasy", Jenny Morris "Salvation Jane", Bluehouse "Big" and My Friend The Chocolate Cake Aria winner "Good Luck". Jeremy mixed Mr Blonde's debut album "Blow Up". He has also mixed Karma County's second album "Olana" and their Aria winning CD "Into the Land of Promise". His collaboration with Brendan Gallagher led to the mixing of Jimmy Little's Aria winning CD "Messenger".

Additional credits in Australia include mixing Strawpeople's album "Vicarious". He also mixed Hunting Party's EP featuring the single "Grooving" and remixed tracks for Karma County, Tiddas, Trout Fishing In Quebec and Deni Hines. Jeremy recorded and mixed a Baz Luhrmann project "Now Until The Break of Day" featuring Christine Anu. He also co-produced with Tim Finn a single for the Tibet Council of Australia, "Mantra Mix".
